Hallie Gayle is an educator, tutor, and editor with over a decade of experience teaching and mentoring writers of all ages. She has taught ESL abroad in South Africa and Vietnam, worked as a writing tutor across age groups, and designed and led creative writing classes for elementary school students. At the university level, Hallie has taught courses in composition and creative writing. She previously served as Fiction Editor of the Pushcart Prize–winning literary journal Faultline.
Hallie holds an MFA in Fiction from the University of California, Irvine, where she was awarded the Donald and Dorothy Strauss Fellowship. Her fiction has appeared in Las Angeles Review of Books Quarterly, McSweeney's, and was also recognized as a Notable Mention in Best American Short Stories.
Hallie has completed a story collection and is now at work on a hybrid novel. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas.
